CBC news scaled for digital signage networks

cbcplaylistCharlottetown-based digital signage provider ScreenScape Networks has entered a new content provider agreement with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to make news feeds available to its clients on a premium ‘pay-per-use’ basis.

Under the agreement, ScreenScape will offer two tiers CBC and Radio-Canada programming: (a) a standard package focusing on popular categories, including news, sports, arts and entertainment; and (b) a comprehensive package that adds business, technology and health categories, as well as local news. The content can be interspersed alongside customers’ own branded messages and ads in a customized playlist (pictured).

“The agreement allows us to make fast-breaking news coverage available to digital signage clients of all sizes, in a way that is scalable and efficient,” says Bob Kerr, national director of CBC’s distribution division.

“The news feeds are fully managed and served up in an order of minutes, which helps keep digital signage programming fresh and relevant,” says Mark Hemphill, CEO of ScreenScape.
