X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone donated their i1 calibration and International Color Consortium (ICC) profiling systems to the International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance) for use in G7 master and process control master qualification programs.
The colour management tools—including the new i1iSis2 automated chart reader (pictured), with spectral technology to help manage the complexity of colour-measuring optically brightened substrates—will be used at IDEAlliance’s partner laboratories at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Printing Arts Laboratory in Rochester, N.Y., to help process submissions from print service providers (PSPs).
“The donation of these devices contributes to the trust our members place in our many certification programs,” says Steven Bonoff, executive vice-president (EVP) of IDEAlliance. “Our partnership with X-Rite supports the continued evolution of print from an art and craft to a science-based industry driven by data and process conformance.”
