Creative Silhouettes, a print shop based in Vaughan, Ont., recently printed and installed graphics at 10 new stores for Hobo Cannabis Company in just seven days.
The cannabis firm has opened new stores in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as part of a 30-branch expansion project across Canada.
“Our deal with Hobo was to wrap their stores regardless of the surface of the walls—and each one had a different texture such as brick, stucco, painted wood, and rusted metal,” said Creative Silhouettes’ project manager and business development lead, Giovani Pereira.
To ensure consistent results across varied retail environments, the print shop used Drytac Polar Grip, an 80-micron (3.2-mil) white polymeric self-adhesive polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film across the whole campaign. The shop printed all black-and-white wall graphics on its HP Latex R1000 printer.

“ND Graphics is our primary supplier of vinyl and equipment, so we went to our contact Dwayne Burton for advice,” said Pereira. “Burton recommended the substrate, and we undertook several print and install tests on all rough surfaces, including the floor, and they all worked well.”
