[1]The Macula, a Czech projection mapping company, recently staged the Sim/Nebula, a private show accompanied by the Czech Philharmonic symphony orchestra. At 45 minutes, it was reportedly the world’s longest video-mapping project to date.
An audience of 600 watched the audiovisual (AV) show at the Rudolfinum music auditorium in Prague, Czech Republic, with 118 musicians surrounded by digital projections on the ceiling and three walls. The Macula used 10 Barco digital projectors to display the work of 11 international artists (see examples in video).
“Our main challenge was to co-ordinate those 11 artists from around the world to create high-quality content in less than two months,” says Martin Posta, founder and director of the Signal Festival, where the project was first discussed in 2014.
“The Macula measured up to the grandiosity of the concert to deliver a gripping visual show,” says Josef Havelka, marketing director for the Czech Savings Bank, which organized the event for its 190th anniversary.
