Toronto-based Convenience Group has enhanced its graphic production capabilities with the installation of a Designjet L25500 printer from HP Canada.
Convenience Group specializes in printing on architectural and window films for clients in the property, facility and retail management industries. The company is often called upon to revamp corporate office spaces with interior décor, wayfinding signage, branding and other image enhancements when a new tenant takes over a leased space.
HP’s durable aqueous ‘latex’ inks have proven well-suited for this work.
“The translucency of the ink is appealing, because it allows light to shine through the colours of our backlit applications,” explains Vahid Seyfaie, Convenience Group’s graphic operations manager.
“The inks also sit on top of vinyl film, allowing them to conform without cracking during wrapping applications,” adds Colin MacLeod, product marketing manager. “If we’re wrapping an exposed brick wall, for example, we use a special film that moulds into the textured surface of the wall after heating. So, we need an ink that can mould with the film. The effect is striking. The finished product looks better than a painted mural.”
