Compagnie Finzi Pasca is planning a new multimedia show, Montreal Avudo, to help celebrate Montreal’s 375th anniversary next year. The production will take place in the west section of the city’s old port, near Convoyeurs Quay and the Montreal Science Centre.
Produced and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, the non-linear show will pay tribute to the St. Lawrence River throughout history with digital projections on water. More than 180,000 spectators will be able to watch any of 100 performances for free from May 17 to Sept. 2, 2017.
“We are very proud to present an outdoor show of this magnitude at the heart of the old port,” says Denis Coderre, Montreal’s mayor. “I invite everyone who loves Montreal to come and see what promises to be a truly spectacular event.”
Pasca’s company has done work for the closing ceremonies of the 2006 Turin and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, among other major productions.
