Last month’s inaugural Digital Signage Expo South America (DSE SA) attracted 3,800 unique visitors, roughly the same number as the annual DSE in Las Vegas, Nev., and thus established new opportunities for Canadian and American companies.
DSE SA was collocated in Sao Paolo, Brazil, with Serigraphia Sign, a well-established visual communications show, which hosted 37,000 attendees this year. As such, many of them were exposed to DSE SA, in addition to the 3,800 who registered specifically for and attended it.
For digital signage hardware manufacturers and software developers based in Canada, the U.S. and elsewhere, the show represented a new large-scale forum for identifying and establishing distribution partners and sales representatives throughout South America.
“In Latin America, there is currently only basic representation of digital signage technology readily available elsewhere, which means there is a huge opportunity to do business here,” says Jamie Garcia, business development manager for DFI Tech, one of the exhibitors. “Brazil and Colombia, especially, are key markets for digital signage in the region. And Sao Paolo is a hub for business throughout Latin America, making it the perfect place to showcase digital signage technologies and develop channel partners.”
“DSE SA was so well-received, we have already confirmed over 80 per cent of the 2015 exhibitors are committed to return to participate again in May 2016,” says Andrea Varrone, DSE show director.
