Barco, which develops digital projectors, light-emitting diode (LED) boards, video walls and other displays, has appointed Jan De Witte CEO-designate. He joins the core leadership team this month and will fully succeed Eric Van Zele, who is retiring, in October.

De Witte was previously president and CEO of General Electric’s (GE’s) global health-care information technology (IT) business. He also has experience in the industrial sector, transportation, supply chains and production management.

Van Zele will continue to serve on the board of directors to ensure continuity of leadership for the company.

“Under Eric, Barco became a market and technology leader, as well as leaner and more focused,” says Charles Beauduin, chair. “Jan’s background in value-added software makes him the right executive to move the business forward to its next phase of growth.”
