Electric taxis power new OOH opportunities

teo1 copyQuebecor Media Out of Home has entered an exclusive business partnership to sell and manage out-of-home (OOH) ads and sponsorships for Taxelco’s new Transport Écologique Optimisé (TÉO) electric taxis in Montreal.

Under the agreement, Quebecor is set to introduce a range of ad options in March, including taxi rooftop signs (example pictured), graphics on electric charging stations and in-cab tablet-based digital signage, where ads will be complemented by real-time information and entertainment.

“By making the tablets and Wi-Fi available, TÉO will provide dynamic opportunities for advertisers to reach consumers when they have time to use interactive functions,” explains Donald Lizotte, executive vice-president (EVP) of Quebecor Media Out of Home.

Reportedly Canada’s first all-electric taxi fleet, TÉO was unveiled in November 2015 for a three-month testing period, after which it is hoped to become part of daily life throughout Montreal.
