Toronto-based environmental graphic design (EGD) firm Entro has developed suitably thematic wayfinding graphics for the underground parkade at Edmonton’s Enbridge Centre, with a gallery of classic and contemporary vehicles.
Working with the building’s owners, Pangman Development and John Day Developments, Entro curated 50 photos of cars and motorcycles, which lead visitors to the elevator vestibules throughout the five-level garage. The featured vehicles range from a 1956 Volkswagen (VW) Bug to a 2016 Fiat 500E All-Electric Hatchback.
In addition, three bicycle storage and locker room facilities on the second level—each painted in a different bright colour—display oversized silhouette cutouts of bicycles, created by artist Taliah Lempert.
The wayfinding program has elicited positive feedback, with tenants saying the bright colours help make the parkade feel safe.
