Available in Canada through ND Graphics, the ColorPainter M-64s is a new high-speed eco-solvent inkjet printer developed by Seiko Instruments to help meet the increasing productivity demands of the indoor and outdoor signage and graphics market.

The 1.6-m (64-in.) wide printer can reportedly lay down six- or seven-colour inks at speeds up to 66.5 m2 (716 sf) per hour on polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Indeed, Seiko claims the M-64s prints sellable PVC graphics at the fastest speed in its class.

The low-odour eco-solvent inks offer three years’ outdoor durability without lamination. The addition of grey as the seventh ink improves monochrome printing quality, but also offers smoother gradations in full-colour prints.

The press offers a new automatic print adjustment, which uses an optical sensor to calibrate the printer whenever a new substrate is loaded. An on-carrier ionizer neutralizes static electricity on the media, reducing static-related printing issues even in low-humidity environments.
