Graphic arts printers named best of the year

Buyers Laboratory, which tests and reviews printers, has named Canon’s ImagePrograf series the wide-format graphic arts printer line of the year for 2014 and has recognized the devices with three ‘pick’ awards for the current winter season.

The annual accolade is awarded to printer vendors whose product lines are judged the best overall in their categories, based on a two-month evaluation process. Within the wide-format category, each printer is assessed for image quality, ease of use, colour management, productivity, connectivity and reliability.

The ‘pick’ awards honoured Canon’s ImagePrograf iPF6400S, iPF8400S and iPF765 M40 models (example pictured). Buyers Laboratory says the first and third, especially, showed exceptional colour consistency, even when printing on non-Canon substrates.
