[1]The International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance) has expanded its independent system validation and certification programs to include original equipment manufacturer (OEM) wide- and grand-format inkjet printing systems.
IDEAlliance will now certify roll-fed and flatbed printing systems for operating within established tolerances for efficiency and quality. The process will involve evaluating the machines for print quality, productivity and application versatility with specific ink-and-media combinations. Specifically, submissions will be tested for registration, uniformity, printing speed, ink consumption, colour gamut, lightfastness, colour accuracy and repeatability.
The results are intended to help sign shops determine which systems would best meet their needs, as well as how to achieve consistent quality from their existing systems.
