Two recent out-of-home (OOH) advertising campaigns for Ikea and Pepsi Canada have been named the third-quarter (Q3) winners of the OOH Marketing Association of Canada’s (OMAC’s) Iris Awards.
Toronto-based creative agency Diamond Integrated Marketing developed a series of contextually localized ads to announce the Sept. 27 opening of a new Ikea store in Dartmouth, N.S., the first in the Atlantic Provinces. The project was named Best OOH Creative Execution.
For Pepsi, meanwhile, creative agency BBDO decorated transit shelters with vinyl decals of bottles featuring Snapchat codes, which passersby could scan to access a unique ‘lens’ for selfies. The campaign won for Best OOH Innovation/Technology.
The inaugural Iris Grand Award will be announced in early 2018, when one creative team will win a trip to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America’s (OAAA’s) annual Obie Awards in Las Vegas, Nev.
Wow. Pretty amateur on both counts.
