Imaged Advertising Creation installs EFI dye-sublimation printer

Imaged Advertising Creations (IAC), a Toronto-based company, is the first facility in Canada to install the Electronics For Imaging (EFI) Vutek FabriVu 520 dye-sublimation printer.

The 5.1-m (17-ft) wide printer is a productive and robust solution for 24-7 operation. Its aqueous inks deliver four-colour printing in a wide-colour gamut with deep saturation up to a resolution of 2400 dots per inch (DPI). The device prints at a maximum speed of 446 m² (4800 sf) per hour.

“The size of this printer, at 17 ft (5.2 m), opens up new markets for us where customers need larger graphics,” said IAC’s general manager, Sean Sadhoo. “One of those markets is theatre companies that need backdrops or curtains. They initially used banner vinyl, but are now switching to sublimated panels.”
