Ottawa-based software developer Corel has launched its 2015 International Design Contest. Participants can submit their vehicle wrap, sign, banner and other designs created in CorelDraw X7 or Photo-Paint X7 throughout March, April and May.

Categories include: advertising, marketing and point-of-purchase (POP) specialty graphics, including signs, banners and logos; vehicle wraps, including designs for cars, trucks and boats; textile and fashion design, including direct-to-garment printing and embroidery; and general illustrations and fine art. There is also a student category and a bonus ‘speed drawing’ category, for which entrants must provide a time-lapse video of their design process.

Contest participants may download a free trial version of Corel’s software at www.coreldraw.com. Judging will take place throughout June and July, selecting winners for each category and one grand-prize winner, who will receive a Roland DGA desktop printer/cutter, embroidery design software, a stock photography subscription and $10,000 (U.S.) in cash. Official rules are available at www.coreldraw.com/design-contest.
