Lamar Advertising has renewed its contract with Kelowna Regional Transit for an additional three-year term. The agreement covers advertising on the interiors and exteriors of buses travelling throughout Kelowna, B.C.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Kelowna, Canada’s third-fastest growing city,” says Darren Peck, transit sales manager for Lamar.

Kelowna Regional Transit operates 70 buses, including seven double-deckers, serving approximately 170,000 residents in Kelowna, West Kelowna and Lake Country, B.C. The buses travel more than 4.6 million km (2.9 million mi) each year in the Okanagan Valley. Funding is cost-shared between the city and district governments and BC Transit at the provincial level.

The advertising contract renewal runs until December 31, 2014, with a portion of revenue going to the municipal government.

“We look forward to successful execution of the new contract and maximizing revenue growth for the city,” says Peck.
