Le Montréaler brings history to life at Montreal-Trudeau Airport

[1]The artists draw inspiration from Montreal’s iconic symbols to create eclectic interpretations forming a contemporary portrait.
After successful displays in Montreal, Taipei (Taiwan), and France, the works of the exposition Le Montréaler are now on exhibit at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
Highlighting iconic features of the city, the project brings together the creativity of 52 illustrators and 10 authors who have produced artistic and literary works for the covers of The New Yorker, which was the source of inspiration for Le Montréaler published in Montreal between the 1920s and the early 1970s.
The exhibition, which occupies the tunnel space located in the domestic zone leading to gates 17 and 34, is expected to remain in place for two years, enabling passengers to recognize or discover the city through the eyes of Quebec artists who journey through time, space, and everyday life through their creations.
“We are proud to bring the spirit of Montreal to life for our passengers through this exposition,” said Aéroports de Montréal’s marketing and communications director Karine La Salle. “We are also paying a vibrant and touching homage to our city, thanks to the local artists who contributed to the project.”
