Leadership succession planned for graphic film manufacturer

Michael J. Roman

Inge G. Thulin

3M, which manufactures graphic films for the sign industry, has appointed Michael J. Roman CEO, effective July 1. He will succeed Inge G. Thulin, who will transition to a newly created role as executive chair of the board.

Roman has held a variety of management positions around the world throughout his 30-year career with 3M. He has served as chief operating officer (COO) and executive vice-president (EVP) since July 2017.

Thulin has served as president, CEO and chair of the board since 2012. In his new role, he will continue to lead the board while working with Roman on long-term strategic initiatives.

“After a thorough and thoughtful succession planning process, Mike is the clear choice to lead 3M into the future,” says Thulin. “He has an excellent track record of growing sales, improving operational efficiency and increasing value.”
