Value Vinyls has added a Q-Sun Xenon test chamber from Q-Lab, allowing improved research and development (R&D) for sign and graphic materials that will be exposed to direct sunlight, indoor lighting and/or sunlight through windows.

The chamber can review materials for fading, yellowing, crazing, cracking and hazing in outdoor or indoor environmental conditions. It also features a water-spraying unit with controllable condensation and humidity to test how materials react to moisture.

“We will be able to simulate the damage caused by full-spectrum light, temperature and moisture that occurs over time in just a few days or weeks,” says James Doherty, product development manager.

Value Vinyls specializes in printable polyvinyl chloride (PVC) media for billboards, awnings, truck tarps and other applications.
