Rolling out a new digital signage and mobile broadcasting network in Couche-Tard and Mac’s convenience stores, iSign Media Solutions’ field technicians are now visiting 550 locations in Quebec to ensure they are up-to-date.
Based in Richmond Hill, Ont., iSign is in negotiations with Moneris Solutions—which maintains Couche-Tard’s point-of-sale (POS) equipment—to take over network maintenance after the blitz, so the technicians can focus next on stores in Ontario and Western Canada. They are installing ‘smart antennas’ that allow digital signs to send coupons to customers’ mobile devices.
“We expect to be able to send messaging to 1.5 to 2 million devices per day, with each connection and count confirmed for advertisers,” says Alex Romanov, iSign’s CEO. “We will build a loyal customer base anonymously and send coupons absolutely free to all who opt in to receive them.”
The company has already uploaded its software to the chain’s stores across Canada—which number more than 1,400—and is now upgrading its audio systems with new hardware components and extended content.
