Pressure-sensitive adhesive manufacturer Mactac recently donated its Imagin RoughRap glossy white vinyl to help decorate a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine in Saint Joan de Deù Children’s Hospital in Barcelona, Spain.
As part of an effort to improve comfort for young patients, local company Demibold printed space-themed graphics on the film with HP durable aqueous ‘latex’ inks and applied it to the entire exterior surface of the machine. The MRI room was renamed the Spatial Room, encouraging children to feel more like an astronaut than a patient.
“We were able to turn an intimidating medical device into a place where children can feel much more at ease,” says Brittany Frenzen, marketing administrator for Mactac. “It’s a stunning installation.”
