Murals on five roadside pillars were recently unveiled in eastern Toronto, in an effort to help beautify space beneath the Don Valley Parkway’s (DVP’s) overpasses to and from the city’s downtown core.
Prominent street artists Felix Berebe (known as Labrona) and Troy Lovegates created the murals through the StreetArtToronto Underpass Program, a legacy project that has already visually transformed 23 pillars in the urban park under the Adelaide Street, Richmond Street and Eastern Avenue overpasses.
Key partners in the program include the municipal government, the Mural Routes non-profit organization, the Corktown Residents and Business Association (CRBA) and Friends of the Pan Am Path.
