  • Roland DGA has teamed up with Case Paper to promote the use of the Sonata laminated paperboard substrates with Roland’s VersaUV light-emitting capacitor (LEC) ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) wide-format inkjet printer/cutters for the production of point-of-purchase (POP) displays, folding cartons (example pictured) and other graphic applications.
  • Display technology provider Christie has acquired Montreal-based digital signage content agency Arsenal Media. The two companies had often worked together over the past six years. Under the deal, Arsenal will be renamed Christie Creative Media Services and continue to operate in Montreal as part of Christie’s global professional services group.
  • In-store digital signage operator iSign Media Solutions in Richmond Hill, B.C., agreed in principle to acquire all issued and outstanding shares of POS Canada, which supplies point-of-sale (POS) software and hardware.
  • Caldera’s Print Standard Verifier, a software tool that ensures conformity across different printing processes, was augmented with support for the International Digital Enterprise Alliance’s (IDEA’s) G7 colour management methodology.

  • Vancouver-based wide-format print service provider (PSP) True Colours has been acquired by R.R. Donnelley & Sons, a large commercial printing company.
  • Digital signage software developer Broadcast International has merged with digital signage content management system vendor Wireless Ronin.
