  • Signmaking software developer SA International launched the International Sign & Printmakers Guild (ISPG), a member-led organization, earlier this year to help signmakers and print shops reach new customers and grow their business. Already, more than 1,000 sign and print companies have joined the guild.
  • Mood Media, an in-store media provider based in Concord, Ont., acquired Technomedia Solutions, an audiovisual (AV) and digital signage integrator that has done work for Cirque du Soleil, among other clients.
  • Video billboard manufacturer Daktronics entered an agreement to purchase Open Out-of-Home Solutions, which provides lightboxes, scrollers, signs and billboard displays to third-party advertisers.
  • Pressure-sensitive film manufacturer Oracal is merging with reflective material supplier Orafol Americas. Effective July 1, both corporate entities will be restructured under the Orafol name.
  • Digital signage software developer YCD Multimedia’s Retail Advertising and Merchandising Platform (RAMP) is being integrated with BrightSign’s media players.
  • Toronto-based GestureTek Systems became the exclusive distributor of Displax Interactive Systems’ Skin multi-touch films in Canada and the U.S.

  • Digital signage mounting system fabricator Peerless-AV has acquired Ciil Technologies, which manufactures weatherproof outdoor video displays.
  • Under a new strategic agreement, Montreal-based BroadSign International’s digital signage software is powering LocaModa’s multi-channel marketing programs for brands and advertising agencies.
  • Graphic film supplier 3M Canada has joined the Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada (OMAC) as an associate member.

  • Under a new partnership, Beta Industries’ colour reflection densitometers are now recommended for use with Color-Logic software’s process metallic colour files. Color-Logic has also joined the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization’s (PRIMIR’s) value-added printing and finishing task force, which is surveying print buyers, print service providers (PSPs) and other key industry players for a comprehensive study to be published later this year.
