Nova Scotia’s South Shore programs funded by BSP and CWP

The Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing announced the Region of Queens Municipality (RQM) received $20,000 out of $750,000 the province has given out to 37 projects in Nova Scotia through its Beautification and Streetscaping Program (BSP) and the Community Works Program (CWP).

Nine projects will receive $164,083 through the Community Works Program. The program creates job opportunities for youth and unemployed people to gain skills and experience in their fields, according to novascotia.ca.

The wayfinding project is one of many South Shore programs being funded; the Town of Mahone Bay received $25,000 for a restoration project. The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg received another $25,000 for the implementation of Phase 1 of its wayfinding project and the Town of Bridgewater received $25,000 for its Riverfront and Downtown Placemaking Initiative, according to the Toronto Star.
