The Town of Oakville, in partnership with the Oakville Youth Action Committee, is offering an opportunity for local youth aged 13 to 18 to engage in a public art project. The Oakville Youth Mural Project, now in its second year, will involve up to 12 young artists in designing and painting a mural for the River Oaks Community Centre.

Under the guidance of Yasaman Mehrsa, a local artist with experience in mural creation, participants will attend three workshops this winter to develop the mural’s design. The project will culminate in the creation of the mural in the spring, with all workshops provided at no cost to the participants. No prior art experience is necessary.

Participants will also earn 40 volunteer hours for their involvement. The completed mural will be revealed during National Youth Week, scheduled from May 1 to 7, 2025. Applications for the project are currently open.
