[1]Toronto-based Entro has developed a new identity for the revitalized Hamilton Farmers’ Market, applying the look and feel of traditional chalkboard signage to newly printed graphics, framed and installed outdoors.
The market was originally founded in 1837 at the corner of York and James Streets. In 1980, it was relocated to 35 York Boulevard, adjacent to the Hamilton Public Library, and enclosed behind a contemporary façade.
In 2011, the market was completely renovated, with a restored historic clock hanging in the centre. The new signage was commissioned from Entro to help highlight the market’s presence within the modern architectural context.
