3M Canada’s commercial graphics division has launched Envision graphic films, which contain no polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and can be used to wrap walls, floors, vehicles, windows and other surfaces.

Designed for indoor or all-weather outdoor use, the films can stretch up to 150 per cent as needed to wrap flat, textured or complex shapes, then conform to them with the application of heat. Their tear resistance also supports faster, cleaner removal in bigger pieces.

The films are compatible with ultraviolet-curable (UV-curable), durable aqueous ‘latex’ and some solvent-based inks. They are accompanied by a clear gloss wrap overlaminate, which is reportedly less prone to scratching than gloss cast vinyl.
