Opa! goes big with first national OOH campaign

BallCreative_OPA_SkeweredLightStandardInstallLight poles decorated as 3.7-m (12-ft) long souvlaki skewers are among the oversized components in Canadian restaurant chain Opa! of Greece’s first national out-of-home (OOH) advertising campaign.

Calgary-based Ball Creative & Communications, which has been Opa’s ad agency of record since 2012, developed the new ‘big bold taste’ concept with a heavy focus on food. The campaign will include large-format wraps, billboards, escalator wraps, wall murals and bus posters in cities across Canada.

“Our media strategy focuses on proximity to each Opa location and booking the largest media available,” says Jan Ball, partner and head of brands and strategy for the agency.

“When it comes to food, if we can get people’s mouths watering, we’ve done our job,” says Hayley Ballinger, partner and creative director.
