At its new global headquarters, the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has installed a liquid crystal display (LCD) array to help showcase its initiatives around the world.

The video wall, comprising six 1.2-m (46-in.) LCDs manufactured by NEC, displays a world map to demonstrate the organization’s sphere of influence, including its various offices in different countries.

“We wanted the video wall to make a statement from the moment anyone walks in the front door,” says Duane Huisken, IAPMO’s director of marketing and communications. “We wanted the graphics to stand out and a system that could run 24-7 without problems.”

The association’s new headquarters are in Ontario, Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles. The video wall welcomes visitors as they enter and—in addition to the regularly updated map—displays visuals depicting ongoing projects, which include the development of codes for plumbing, solar energy, mechanical certification and swimming pool, spa and hot tub products.
