This June, Ontario transportation provider Metrolinx celebrated Pride Month with a special edition colourful GO bus wrap.

The design aligns with this year’s theme, “Stick with Us,” featuring graphics based on stickers, pins, and badges connected to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. It also includes the words, “Pride. Every Day. Always.”

Created by senior integrated design specialist Tim Singleton, the inspiration behind this year’s wrap was not only sharing the message of Pride, but also the importance of being seen.

“Knowing the connection the 2SLGBTQ+ community has when it comes to message sharing through stickers and buttons, I played around with the idea of bringing that esthetic to the Pride campaign,” he says. “It’s also a complete switch up from last year, where the bus was black with bursts of colour. This year, it’s a rainbow extravaganza.

“Visibility is a huge part of getting conversations going and getting people to acknowledge the differences in our lives, and the beauty within that.”

This is the 11th year Metrolinx has participated in the annual festivities. The bus appeared at several events throughout the month, including Barrie Pride, York Pride, and the Toronto Pride Parade.
