Durst Rho 500R Product Photo[1]To handle big, complex projects requiring multiple types of output, Imagerie DB in Boisbriand, Que., has acquired a 5-m (16.4-ft) wide Durst Rho 500R roll-to-roll inkjet printer.

Imagerie DB, which had already recently installed a Rho 900 ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) printer, specializes in printing graphics on a wide variety of substrates for fashion, retail and other campaigns. Its products include point-of-purchase (POP) displays, banners, vehicle wraps, floor graphics, billboards, posters and building wraps.

The Rho 500R prints six-colour images on vinyl, mesh and other super-wide roll media at speeds up to 349-m2 (3,760 sf) per hour, offering unattended operation. For extra efficiency, it can print three independent images from different job queues onto three different 1.6-m (5.2-ft) media rolls at the same time.

“The 500R will help strengthen our reputation with clients because of its versatility, range and quality,” says Benoit Paquette, who founded the company with his brother Denis. “It is a highly efficient, productive machine that will make our operations more responsive.”
