Toronto-based Avanti Computer Systems, which develops workflow software for digital printing processes, has donated $75,000 to Ontario’s University of Waterloo (UW).
The company’s three owners—Patrick Bolan, Stephen McWilliam and Peter Funnell—were all UW students who remained friends after graduating. They purchased Avanti in 2004 through a business partnership and have since tripled the size of the company.
“The university played such an important role, both in our professional development and in bringing the three of us together, we wanted to give something back,” says Bolan, president and CEO.
“Many of our employees are UW graduates,” adds Funnel, chief financial officer (CFO). “They continue to play a vital role in product innovation. We are excited to support the university and we look forward to continue to tap into its co-op program and graduates for new team members to support our growth.”
