Taizaburo ‘Ted’ Egawa has been named president and CEO of Canon Canada, which continues to expand its manufacturing operations in the wide-format printer sector. He succeeds Kazuto ‘Kevin’ Ogawa, who has assumed another executive role with Canon China.
Egawa joined Canon’s international business management department in Japan in 1983, with responsibility for office equipment sales to corporate clients. Over the years, he worked in a number of regions, including Canada from 1984 to 1985. Most recently, he was vice-president (VP) and general manager (GM) of strategy planning and administration for Canon’s U.S.-based imaging technologies and communications group (ITCG).
In his new role, Egawa will report to Joe Adachi, president and CEO of Canon USA and chair of Canon Canada.
“Ted will be a great addition to the Canadian region leadership team,” Adashi says. “He played an integral role in strengthening our imaging technology business and expanded our company’s reach into new domains.”
