More than 800 graphic designers and printing professionals got to see Color-Logic’s process metallic colour system in action at paper supplier Ariva’s annual smelt fry in mid-October.

A demonstration of the software technology was held in the Millennium Hotel in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, where Ariva was showcasing a variety of innovations in paper and packaging applications, on October 18 (invitation pictured).

“We were able to show attendees many examples of the system, which enables printers to produce metallic images and special effects reliably and consistently, without the extensive design time and unpredictability ordinarily associated with metallic printing,” says Mark Geeves, Color-Logic’s director of sales and marketing.

The demonstration was multifaceted, showing how the software can be used in screenprinting, digital printing, offset lithography and flexography.

“Across all of these platforms, the system produces predictable results,” says Geeves, “which is a plus for all parties in design and production.”
