PrismTech[1]As part of an annual equipment upgrade, PrismTech Graphics in Burnaby, B.C., recently installed a 762-mm (30-in.) wide reconditioned Polar paper cutter from Colter & Peterson. It joins an earlier 1.4-m (57-in.) Polar machine.

Founded in 1994 as a small screenprinting shop, PrismTech has grown to become a full-service commercial printing business with a 3,252-m2 (35,000-sf) facility, more than 30 employees and an international customer base. The company specializes in point-of-purchase (POP) displays, outdoor posters, vinyl banners, vehicle wraps and wall, floor and window graphics. The new cutter (pictured with operator Renato Palalay) will be used to precision-trim decals and retail shelf strips.

“The cutter is doing a great job and giving us the capability to take on more work,” says Paul Milburn, owner and president of PrismTech. “I’ve known Bruce Peterson, president of Colter & Peterson, for several years and we always chat at the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo. He is very attentive, listens well and does everything he can to help.”
