Projections around world celebrate Manchester City’s Premier League win
Earlier this month, Manchester City’s Premier League win was celebrated with digitally projected images of the soccer team’s players onto buildings in each of their home cities around the world.
Reaching 25 cities on three continents, the images were projected on buildings selected for their personal connections to each player, such as their childhood schools. All players who were part of the title-winning campaign, along with manager Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff, were represented (examples pictured include Sergio Agüero projected onto Loma Alegre Football Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina, left, and David Silva at Playa las Marañuelas in Gran Canaria, Spain, right).
“This was an ambitious and exciting project,” says Omar Berrada the club’s chief operating officer (COO). “We wanted to extend these celebrations to our players’ hometowns. Their reactions were fantastic. They loved seeing their achievement marked in such special locations.”
