Screenguild Signs in Aldergrove, B.C., has installed SAi’s subscription-based Flexi signmaking software on four of its computers, including three for design work and one for the production department, where it drives two print-and-cut machines.
The custom sign shop produces graphics, decals, banners, soft signage, rigid signs and other specialty applications, primarily for property management companies and shopping malls. With a fully digital workflow, the shop’s three-person team can offer full service from design to production (pictured is Michael Gibson, sign production technician) to installation.
One key benefit of the software subscription has been the availability of automatic updates.
“Sign printing technology is a moving target these days,” says Dan Bosley, Screenguild’s owner. “Having the latest version of the software means we can take on work with confidence. And running one raster image processor (RIP) to drive two machines is a great advantage for a small company.”
