John Lutz, who runs Selbert Perkins Design’s (SPD’s) office in Chicago, Ill., has been elected president of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD). He succeeds Jill Ayers, who held the title for two years and now serves as immediate past-president.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the vision and initiatives that were put in place by Jill, who grew our organization to an all-time high of 1,795 members in 2015,” he says.
Lutz was appointed to SEGD’s board of directors in 2010 and served as the vice-president (VP) of its executive committee in 2014 and 2015. He has been part of SPD for nearly 20 years, specializing in signage, wayfinding, printed graphics and public art, and has developed comprehensive branded communications master plans for Universal Studios, Sony World Headquarters (HQ) and Casino Las Vegas, among other large-scale facilities.
