SGIA announces Golden Image Award winners

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and the Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) have revealed the winners of their 2012 Golden Image Awards competition. All entries were evaluated and judged during the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, Nev., which ran from October 18 to 20. The competition covers almost every type of item that can be created through specialized printing, including interior décor and wallpaper (example pictured left), vehicle wraps, floor graphics, backlit signs, point-of-purchase (POP) displays, exhibits, building graphics, metal signs, posters, transit ads, banners, fine-art reproductions, wooden signs, decals, labels, stickers, nameplates, garments, embroidery, ceramics, carpets and rugs, membrane switches, calendars, greeting cards and binders, along with unique products. The following were the top winners:

• Best in Digital Creativity: Creative birdhouses by Build a Birdhouse (pictured, right).
• Best of Show (Digital): Sea Fever by Light-Works.
• ASPT Best of Show (Graphics): Waterbalance by Atelier for Siebdruck.
• ASPT Best of Show (Garments): View Change 4 Sides by Tarun Print Tech.
• People’s Choice Award: Cadbury Ship by Modagrafics.
