[1]Three students at Ryerson University’s School of Graphic Communications Management (GCM) in Toronto are among the recipients of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA’s) 2017 scholarship program.

Maya Seto (pictured), Amanda Whyte and Sylvia Ma have each received US$2,000 to support their studies this fall at Ryerson, which is an active SGIA educational institution/member school. They are among 10 recipients selected from a pool of 32 applicants based on academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to a career in graphic communications, printing technology or management, among other factors.

“I hope to continue my work in this industry as a production co-ordinator or manager, where I will be able to make use of the skills I have gained over the past few years,” says Seto.

“These scholarships help promising, hardworking students advance in their career paths, while also helping SGIA strengthen the industry and its future workforce,” says Erin Nuss, SGIA’s associate manager of education.
