The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) announced the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) has certified its 50th printing facility for social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
The company in question, Visual Impressions, is a member of SGIA and cites peer-to-peer networking as a valuable resource in achieving SGP certification. Staff had to set annual objectives and goals for sustainability improvements.
“SGP certification adds to our marketability and demonstrates leadership in the specialty graphics industry to our existing and potential customers,” says Visual Impressions’ chief operating officer (COO), Marshall Atkinson. “It’s a game-changer, as more and more businesses want to align themselves with companies that are committed to socially responsible, environmentally sustainable programs. We are proud of the work our staff has completed.”
SGIA and several other trade associations founded SGP in 2008 as an independent, non-profit organization that would develop industry-standard certification labels for sustainability in the graphic communications sector.
