[1]Simpson Print, based in Bloomingdale, Ont., has added a SwissQprint Nyala large-format ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) light-emitting diode (LED) inkjet press to increase its in-house digital production capabilities.

The company, which has been in business for more than 50 years, has diversified its operations over time with high-resolution screenprinting, UV offset printing on plastics and papers, both small- and large-format digital printing, binding, finishing and kitting. It will use the Nyala, which prints in eight cokours plus white, to produce decals, point-of-purchase (POP) display graphics, banners and similar applications.

The Nyala’s 3.2 x 2-m (10.5 x 6.6-ft) flatbed can reportedly print up to 206 m2 (2,217 sf) of graphics per hour.
