Web Connect+, a collaboration between six companies in the print automation industry, will showcase an end-to-end automated printing and finishing solution this week at Graphics Canada.
Combining elements from Infigo, Significans Automation, Enfocus, Motionalysis, Ronik, and Elitron, the seamless live demonstration will take attendees through every step of the process—including design, pre-flighting, digital printing, and finishing—without any human intervention.
To begin, attendees can create a personalized product using Infigo’s web-to-print platform. Next, the job will be processed by Significans Automation, a solutions integrator which helps customize printer workflow.
From there, it will be sent to Phoenix imposition and planning software (provided by Enfocus), and then to Enfocus for pre-flight checks. Motionalysis will also provide live tracking and shop floor analytics of the printing and finishing equipment.
Once the design is ready, Ronik’s RAY X flatbed printer will produce high-quality prints, which will then be transported across the booth for finishing. The prints will arrive at an Elitron cutting machine, where they will undergo the material cutting process. From here, attendees will see the finished product come to fruition.
How will the print get to the cutting machine without human intervention? In a recent Web Connect+ webinar, Marc Raad, president of Significans Automation, revealed exactly which element would be responsible for the transportation process. However, this is one surprise attendees will just have to see to believe.
Demonstrations will be running at Graphics Canada, booths 5222 and 5234, from May 11 to 13.
