Smoke Signals indicate digital signage at Saskatchewan casinos

CasinoAudiovisual (AV) equipment distributor Almo and flexible light-emitting diode (LED) display manufacturer NanoLumens have designed and installed custom digital signage systems for five Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) casinos in Saskatchewan.

In a year-long project dubbed ‘Smoke Signals,’ the companies placed flexible screens in a 3.8-m (12.5-ft) tall teepee-shaped configuration—4.4 m (14.5 ft) around—above a row of slot machines in each of the following facilities: Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert, Bear Claw Casino in Carlyle, Dakota Dunes Casino in Saskatoon; Painted Hand Casino in Yorkton; and Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford.

The displays use video content and tickers to reinforce the casinos’ messaging and encourage repeat sales. Additional installations are expected at more WCLC casinos over the next year.

“We were excited to see the first phase of Smoke Signals come to completion after many months of planning,” says Billy MacLennan, chief operating officer (COO) for Bet Rite, the Canadian integrator of the project. “This is high-profile for us.”
