[1]Roland DGA’s 1.6-m (64-in.) VersaArt RE-640 four-colour printer has been upgraded with new eight-channel printhead technology for both indoor and outdoor graphics.
Using eco-solvent inks, the printer fires drops in seven different sizes to ensure smooth photographic and solid-colour gradations in images for signs, posters, vehicle wraps, banners, backlit displays and wall graphics. Its double cyan, magenta, yellow and key/black (CMYK) ink configuration has been mirrored (‘CMYKKYMC’) to prevent banding in bi-directional mode. Pass control helps to ensure precise media feeding and to minimize traces of ink bleeding.
Designed for production printing, the RE-640 can reportedly output up to 23 m2 (248.6 sf) per hour.
