Sport Chek brings digital signage to Sherway Gardens

SC10Canadian retailer Sport Chek recently unveiled a new digital signage-heavy flagship store in Toronto’s Sherway Gardens shopping centre, which is its sixth overall and its third within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The 7,432-m2 (80,00-sf) store features many of the innovations that have been tested at Sport Chek’s other flagship locations, including ‘hologram’ product podiums and a three-storey ‘monolith’ video wall. Radio frequency identification (RFID) tabs in footwear can be held in front of digital signs to trigger the display of the products’ specific benefits.

“We believe our flagship stores represent one of the best shopping experiences in the world, in part because the digital installations are exciting and entertaining,” says Duncan Fulton, president of FGL Sports, which operates Sport Chek and other sporting goods retail chains.
