The St. Catharines Downtown Association (SCDA) is seeking submissions for mural projects in the city’s downtown core.

Local artists are invited to submit their proposals for a 2.4- x 1.8-m (8- x 6-ft) mural installation at a location on St. Paul Street. Their submissions should explore one or more of the following themes:

Applicants must submit a budget regarding the cost of the materials and installation; a short artist statement describing how their work fits with the suggested themes; a short biography; and concept images of their mural submission, as well as any past mural work they have completed. There is no cost for submissions.

Artists are also advised to prepare their work off-site in panels, which can be installed on-site as a complete piece.

While SCDA is looking to do rolling submissions, they are currently aiming to have the first installation completed by the end of the year.
