Based in Markham, Ont., North American Decal has installed an Inca Digital Spyder V ultraviolet-curing (UV-curing) flatbed printer and ColorGate workflow system from Fujifilm Canada.

North American Decal was founded in 1962 as an offset printing house. It began specializing in screenprinting in the 1970s and added digital technologies in 2000.

Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, the company continues to build expertise across a variety of presses and expanding its portfolio. In addition to decals, it now produces vehicle graphics and point-of-purchase (POP) displays, as a business strategy to diversify revenue.

“We have found the learning curve with the Spyder to be very smooth,” says Sagar Joshi, vice-president (VP).

North American Decal currently has 40 employees and has been honoured for its environmental processes. In 2007, it won a pollution prevention award from the Canadian Council of Ministers.
